Team Functioning in Secure Residential Care Facilities

Validation of a Self-Report Measure

Samenvatting

In Secure residential care with clients with severe behavioral and psychiatric problems, team functioning is important for safety. Therefore monitoring team functioning on a regular basis can help in improving safety and care quality. The present study examined the construct and concurrent validity of a parsimonious staff self-report measure, the Pantrix. Results in a sample of 1.137 workers indicated that a two-factor model (positive and negative team functioning), consisting of 17 items showed a good fit to the data, indicating construct validity of the measure. Findings indicate that the instrument may be used as a parsimonious valid and reliable monitoring instrument.
