The chapter discusses the prevalence of MID/BIF among individuals involved in criminal behaviour, highlighting the overrepresentation of this group in the criminal justice system. It addresses the significant challenges these individuals face within the system, including misunderstandings, misinterpretations and inadequate support. The chapter also outlines effective interventions and approaches tailored to the needs of individuals with MID/BIF, emphasizing the importance of a safe learning environment, comprehensive assessment, adapted communication and structured guidance.
