Developing and submitting a portfolio evaluating your educational qualifications, workplace and the English language requirements will be part of the intake process. After submitting your portfolio you will be invited for an intake interview where your qualifications, workplace and English language requirement will be reviewed. Final approval of your portfolio by the Exam committee is needed to finalize your enrollment (more information can be found under the section Intake process).

Enrollment

To enroll in the Master Digital Forensics you will have to go through our intake process and submit a portfolio demonstrating you meet the admission requirements. You will be asked to upload documents related to your educational background, current workplace and work experience in addition to your English language proficiency. After uploading your portfolio, it will be internally assessed, after which you will receive an invitation for an intake interview to discuss further requirements, if any, regarding your eligibility to the Master’s program. Final approval of your portfolio by the Exam committee is needed to finalize your enrollment. The intake process is set-up to ensure you are well-prepared when starting the Master’s program.

The final deadline for enrollment for the academic year 2024/2025 is August 15th 2024. However, we encourage you to enroll as soon as possible to allow for sufficient time to complete the intake process and (if necessary) to eliminate deficiencies to meet the admission requirements. Deficiencies need to be eliminated before the enrollment deadline (August 15th 2024) if you wish to start the Master’s program in September 2024.

To start the process of enrollment, it is important that you first register via Studielink.nl. After your registration in Studielink you will receive an invitation for the intake process.

Intake process

Once you have registered for the Master of Digital Forensics via Studielink you will receive an invitation (via email) for the intake process. The intake process consists of the following steps:

1: Assessment knowledge & skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Digital Forensics, often there is the option to follow a pre-master program to meet the required prerequisites . Alternatively you can submit proof in the form of relevant work experience, certifications or classes taken to demonstrate that you meet the required prerequisites. This will be evaluated and determined during the intake process and interview.

*Please note that if your degree is not from a University in the Netherlands, you must be able to provide a certified copy of your diploma and transcript. Leiden UAS will assess your diploma for admissibility.

2: Suitable workplace

A suitable workplace in the field of digital forensics is needed to start with the Master’s program. A workplace evaluation form needs to be completed and submitted. Download the Workplace Evaluation Form ( pdf, 952 KB ) that needs to be filled out. The filled out form will be part of your portfolio.

3: English language requirement

As our Master’s program is taught entirely in English, candidates must demonstrate a good command (minimum B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages*) of the English language. This can be done by including proof such as an international degree, certificates or work experience within an international environment as part of your portfolio.

*The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is a guideline used to describe achievements of learners of foreign languages across Europe and, increasingly, in other countries. The CEFR is also intended to make it easier for educational institutions and employers to evaluate the language qualifications of candidates for education admission or employment. 4: Intake interview

After submitting your portfolio you will be invited for an intake interview to discuss further requirements, if any, regarding your eligibility to the Master’s program.  If there are deficiencies, often there is the option to follow a pre-master program to meet the admission requirements. Final approval of your portfolio by the Exam committee is needed to finalize your enrollment.
