About the pre-master program

If you have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Digital Forensics, often there is the option to follow a pre-master program to meet the required prerequisites. The pre-master program offers 9 different modules. Depending on your educational knowledge and professional background there is the option to follow one or more of the pre-master modules to ensure you obtain the required knowledge to be admitted to the Master’s program Digital Forensics.

During the intake interview your educational and professional knowledge, based on your submitted portfolio, will be discussed to determine which (if any) deficiencies there are. You will be advised which modules of the pre-master program are required to complete before you are eligible to start the Master’s program. We use this tailor-made approach to ensure all students are well-prepared when starting the Master’s program. The pre-master modules are offered through the CBD, the Centre for Bioscience & Diagnostics. The CBD develops and runs a broad-based portfolio of training courses that take place at the University of Applied Sciences Leiden. Enrollment for the pre-master modules is organized via the CBD. The modules are to be completed online via self-study with the opportunity to ask questions to lecturers from the Digital Forensics program via the online learning system. The pre-master modules vary from 2 - 5 ECTS. Depending on your prior knowledge and experience the study load is approximately 28hr per ECTS. It is possible to start at any given time with the pre-master program. However, the required modules need to be completed before August 15 of the year in which you enroll if you wish to start the Master’s program in September.

Costs

The tuition fee for the pre-master Digital Forensics program  various between 600 to 1500 euro per module depending on the size (and ECTS) of the specific module.
