Themes
To further increase our social impact, we focus on four key thematic areas: Health and well-being, Education, Safety and Sustainability. These focal points align closely with our current range of education and practice-based research, as well as with the regional and broader societal challenges.
Education
Numerous lecturers engage in research at the interfaces of care, welfare, education and justice. The knowledge centre Professionalisation through Education-Pedagogical Practice Research will also work in the coming years to link parenting, education and research.
Safety
We collaborate closely with partners in the security sector across various centres of excellence. Societal challenges we want to contribute to, include: the development of digital forensic investigation, the promotion of diversity in the field of security and public administration, and the social aspects of crime fighting.
Sustainability
Under the umbrella of the 'sustainability' theme, research is conducted to foster sustainable innovation in professional practice. This endeavour is guided by the Sustainable Development Goals.
