Financial matters

Exchange students do not pay tuition fees

If you are an exchange student from a foreign education institution with which we have an exchange agreement, you do not have to pay tuition fees to Leiden UAS, only your home university. Erasmus+ exchange students need to apply for an Erasmus+ grant at their home institution.

Will I receive student finance?

Sometimes, with a non-Dutch nationality, you may be eligible for Dutch student finance. Check the DUO website for more information.

Costs of living

Even without paying tuition fees to Leiden UAS, The Netherlands is not a  cheap country to live in. You need to consider that your cost of living will be between €1000,- and €1300,- a month. This includes costs for housing, food, public transport and personal expenses.

Be prepared by saving up and by budgeting in advance!

What scholarships are available?

There are scholarships available for international students who wish to study in the Netherlands. Check the overview of scholarships for more information.
