Overall objective:
Participants gain insight in and experience with various models concerning awareness raising and bringing about behavioural change in the context of developing countries.
Brief specification:
During this workshop various theories and strategies concerning awareness raising and behavioural change will be presented and practiced, with a focus on developing countries. In this context, attention is being paid to issues such as dealing with different target groups (including illiterate people), cultural differences and participatory methods. Students will also gain insight in the problems they may encounter when trying to bring about behavioural change.

Teaching method:
During the workshop different teaching methods, such as lectures, practicals, case studies and role plays will be used. Active participation of the students in this workshop is essential.
Examination:
There will be a continuous assessment of the students based on their participation during the workshop. At the end of the workshop participants receive a certificate of Leiden University of Applied Sciences.

Workshop of 4 days from 10.30 - 17.15 hrs.:
Total study load amounts to approximately 40 hours (preparation and 4 days workshop).

The course fee amounts to &euro 1100,- including course materials, excluding catering.
